🖨️ Setting Up a New Printer (Wired or Wireless)

1. Unbox and Prepare the Printer

  • Remove all packaging materials (plastic wraps, tapes, foam, etc.).

  • Plug the printer into a power outlet and turn it on.

  • Install the ink or toner cartridges (check the manual for correct placement).

  • Load paper into the tray.

2. Connect the Printer to Your Device

Option A: USB Connection (Wired)
  • Plug the USB cable into your printer and computer.

  • Most systems will auto-detect and install the necessary drivers.

Option B: Wi-Fi (Wireless)
  • Use the printer’s screen/panel to navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi > Setup Wizard.

  • Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

  • Wait for a confirmation that it’s connected.

3. Install Printer Software/Drivers

  • On your computer, go to the printer manufacturer’s website (e.g., HP, Canon, Epson).

  • Download and install the latest driver/software for your specific printer model.

  • Alternatively, use the installation CD if it came with one.

4. Add the Printer to Your Computer

  • Windows:
Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners > Add a printer.

  • Mac:
Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners > Add Printer.

5. Print a Test Page

  • This helps confirm everything is working. You can do this from the printer settings on your computer or directly from the printer panel.
